Engr. Henry Kwadwo Boateng, F.PE.IET(GH)

Current Status

Henry Kwadwo Boateng F.PE.IET (GH) is a Fellow of Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana and also its current president. He was the Vice President and Chairman for the Southern Sector of IET-GH in 2020/21 and also served on Public and International Affairs sub-committee of Engineering Council, the same year. Engr. Henry Kwadwo Boateng is currently the Chairman of IET-GH Governing Council Board and Council member of Ghana Chamber of Construction Industry (GCCI). He serves on a number of committees at Government and other Built Environment Agencies, namely: Strategic Planning of GCCI, Licensing and Registration of Engineering Council (EC), Enforcement for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) among others. He is a member of Ghana Institute of Construction and also a member of America Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE). Since 2014 he has worked for the Cocoa Marketing Company (GH) Limited a subsidiary of Ghana Cocoa Board

Academic and Professional Qualification

He holds MEng Building Services Engineering with Management, MSc in Procurement with Management, BSc Building Technology all from (KNUST). He also holds Licentiaship in Construction UK, Construction Technician II UK, and Investigative Accounting and Forensic Auditing from Ghana Technology University College.

Achievements

Between 1998 and 2014, a period of sixteen years, Engr. Henry Kwadwo Boateng worked as an engineer with the local government service. During the period he also served as the interim president of the Brong Ahafo Association of engineers. This was from 2002 to 2010..

Engr. Henry Kwadwo Boateng was the chairman of Investigative Committee which investigated the circumstances leading to the collapse of Church of Prosperity Building at Ayem Batabi on the 20th October, 2020. He has been involved in the execution of large construction projects from conception through pretender and post tender activities,  with the mandate of design, developing project briefs, execution, development control, supervision and coordination of all technical aspects of field engineering assignments including quality control compliance in both material use and work process and methods to the accepted construction technology and standards for both private and Government; ie Jubilee Park , underground auditorium for Dream field International School, Sunyani among others. Among his achievements are, training of construction industry Professionals; and Management of Engineered Landfill site (Waste Management). He also established the district works departments for Sunyani West and Banda

Published Works

Engr. Henry Kwadwo Boateng authored ‘User Friendliness of Office Building’; ‘Influence of Procurement System on Construction Project Team’s Communication Management’; ‘Factors Inhibiting Effective Maintenance of Public Building’; and ‘Maintenance of Weighbridge’.

Awards

Engr. Henry Kwadwo Boateng is the winner of the following awards:

  1. Ghana Chamber of Construction Industry Award.
  2. Best Engineer and Technologist of the year 2021.
  3. Certificate of Honour, Service to the growth of the youth Apostolate.
  4. Certificate of Honour as Executive Member of the Diocesan COSRA-Expansion Committee (Catholic Diocese of Sunyani).

 

Private Life

Engr. Henry Kwadwo Boateng is a family man and a devout Christian.
